CILSA is consolidated as ARCESES’s infrastructure partner, which expands 11,221 m2 of leasing in the ZAL Port (Prat)

Barcelona, on January 11, 2024. ARCESE, logistics operator and world leader in land, sea and air transport of goods and logistics services with a presence in 70 countries, and CILSA, the company that manages ZAL Port, have signed a new contract lease of 10,264 m2 of warehouse and 957 m2 of office (Warehouse A.24.2.) and thus becomes the preferred infrastructure partner.

This new contract responds to the development of ARCESE’s activity in Spain, particularly in Barcelona, as a global logistics integrator, increasing the end-to-end supply of logistics and transport solutions. It offers service for all companies regardless of their size or sector of activity, with a special focus on markets such as Automotive, Fashion, Consumer, Retail, among others. Sectors that have found in ARCESE a partner that offers them added value, both in terms of service quality, as well as in security or know-how to meet the needs of the customer, managing their export operations, as well as those of import, handling, picking, packing, storage, as well as subsequent distribution both in the Iberian Peninsula and in the South of France, and Islands, under the area of influence of the Port of Barcelona.

The ship is equipped with the most modern technology for logistics activity, with a height under the installation’s eaves of 11 m free in the storage area; it has 25 loading docks with sectional doors and shelters, 2 access ramps and exterior canopies. It has interior lighting using adjustable low-consumption LED technology, and with natural lighting exceeding 10% of the surface free of skylights.

In addition, the plot is equipped with 55 parking spaces for light vehicles, a fire protection installation made with ESFR sprinklers according to NFPA, and a smoke extraction system that guarantees a medium risk level 5.

After the incorporation of ARCESE into the ZAL Port (BCN) in June 2014, this relationship is increased with a new additional ship which represents a very important milestone in CILSA’s strategy, which thus consolidates itself as a partner of logistic infrastructures at the service of the Port of Barcelona for your customers.

José Luis Iranzo, Managing Director and General Manager of ARCESE in Spain, has highlighted: with the signing of this agreement, ARCESE adds these 10,264 m2 to the ZAL Port (Prat), to the 12,500 m2 already existing in ZAL Port (BCN), with a total of 23,000 m2 in the facilities of the ZAL Port del Port de Barcelona. It is a clear commitment by the company to ZAL Port as a preferred partner in our development strategy in Barcelona. Currently, the Barcelona subsidiary plans to close the 2023 financial year with a turnover close to 30 million euros and has a total of 120 employees, out of the total of 250 of ARCESE in Spain.

For his part, Jordi Guerrero, general manager of CILSA, has pointed out: “For CILSA, it is strategic to be able to sign contracts with global clients such as ARCESE. Once all the development of the available land has been completed and with sustained occupations of 98% over the last few years, being able to retain the loyalty of logistics integrators of this scale responds to the raison d’être of a project like the ZAL Port. Being ARCESE’s logistics infrastructure partner in Barcelona is an enormous satisfaction and a professional challenge to live up to such an important and large-scale client, turning the need to continue growing into an obligation to provide answers to the needs of our customers, confirming the ZAL Port as a reference in the logistics market of Barcelona”.
