Concession to CILSA to build a new warehouse for Lidl

Barcelona, June 25, 2025. The Port of Barcelona has granted Centro Intermodal de Logística, SA (CILSA) an administrative concession for 99,135 m² in the ZAL Port (Prat) for the construction of a logistics warehouse for the storage of goods associated with maritime traffic. This warehouse will be operated by Lidl, currently the leading retail chain in Europe.

The Port of Barcelona has granted Centro Intermodal de Logística, SA (CILSA) an administrative concession for 99,135 m² in the ZAL Port (Prat), previously occupied by the company TOTAL, for the construction of a logistics warehouse for the storage of goods associated with maritime traffic. The Port’s concession to CILSA has a 34-year term, renewable. The project, which will involve an investment of €42.1 million, has passed all administrative and public information procedures without objection.

The warehouse, with 55,000 m² of logistics area and a height of 15 meters—higher than usual for this type of logistics warehouse—will be operated by Lidl, with whom CILSA has signed a binding pre-contract for a 15-year, renewable period. The large size of the warehouse reflects the importance of this project, which will complement the two warehouses that Lidl currently manages in the ZAL Port. Once this new facility is operational, Lidl will manage a total of 165,000 m² in this area. Lidl is currently the leading retail chain in Europe.
