Barcelona, June 25, 2025. The Port of Barcelona
has granted Centro Intermodal de Logística, SA (CILSA) an administrative
concession of 99,135 m² to the ZAL Port (Prat) for the
construction of a logistics ship intended for maritime traffic transport. This
will be operated by Lidl, currently the leading distribution chain in Europe.
The Port of Barcelona has granted Centro Intermodal de
Logística, SA (CILSA) an administrative concession of 99,135 m² to the ZAL
Port (Prat), formerly occupied by the company TOTAL, for the construction
of a logistics ship intended for maritime traffic transport. The concession
from the Port to CILSA has a duration of 34 years, extendable. The project,
which will involve an investment of 42.1 million euros, has passed all
administrative and public information procedures without al·legations.
The ship, with 55,000 m² of logistics surface and a height
of 15 meters – higher than what is usual in logistics ships – will be operated
by Lidl, where CILSA has signed a binding pre-contract for a term of 15 years,
extendable. The large dimensions of the ship reflect the importance of this
project, which will complement the two ships currently controlled by Lidl and
ZAL Port. Once this new development has come into operation, Lidl will manage a
total of 165,000 m² in this area. Lidl is currently the leading distribution
chain in Europe.
