Barcelona, May 23, 2024. ARCESE SPAIN, a subsidiary of the Italian parent company of the same name, is an integrated logistics operator and a world leader in land, sea and air freight and logistics services with a presence in 70 countries. CILSA, the company that manages ZAL Port, is its preferred infrastructure partner, and a new lease agreement was recently signed.
ARCESE Spain closed the 2023 financial year with a turnover of nearly €60M and a positive EBITDA of 5%. With sales in 2022 of 49.88 M € and 38.72 M € in 2021, it is improving its results and progressively strengthening its market position. It currently has 260 employees in Spain, distributed in its 4 work centres in Barcelona, Madrid, Valladolid, and Irun, and more than 60,000 m2 of warehouses, strategically distributed throughout Spain. Recently, ARCESE and CILSA signed a new collaboration agreement in Barcelona. This alliance has led to the expansion of 10,264 m2 of warehouse and 957 m² of office space of the current area of the company in the ZAL Port of Barcelona, reaching a total area of almost 25,000 m2.
José Luis Iranzo, CEO and General Manager of the Spanish company, confirms that ARCESE Spain faces the upcoming years with optimism, focused on achieving the objectives of its strategic development plan. The main milestone is to exceed 100 million revenue in our country in the next 3 years, consolidating and improving its international and national business strategy and networking, with future openings of new offices in the Peninsula, as well as through new market opportunities, business acquisitions or participation in other companies.
Iranzo also confirms the constitution of the new legal entity Ventana Serra España S.A.U., of which he will also be the CEO and GM in Spain, a brand that markets worldwide the Air and Ocean services of the Italian holding, and through which the Spanish firm will start marketing the Air and Ocean service in Spain from July 2024. Ventana Serra is part of an internationally recognized network of freight forwarders and aims to increase opportunities for integration with other partners, to offer greater efficiency in services throughout the entire service chain.

CILSA – ZAL Port
CILSA (Centro Intermodal de Logística, S.A., S.M.E.) is the commercial company that manages the Logistics Activities (ZAL Port) of the Port of Barcelona. It is part of the public sector and is owned by the APB, Autoritat Portuària de Barcelona (51.5%) and MERLIN Properties (48.5%).
CILSA manages 239 hectares located in the municipalities of Barcelona (69 ha), El Prat de Llobregat (143 ha) and CZFB (27 ha), and directly manages a total of 736,332 m² of gross leasable area (GLA) in the ZAL Port. CILSA has also granted surface rights to customers who have built some 183,252 m² of warehouses, creating a logistics infrastructure park of 920,000 m², a pioneer in Spain.
CILSA has led the development, promotion, and marketing of this area since its founding in 1992 and has been a pioneer in social and environmental action. Since 2018 CILSA adhered to the United Nations Pact, committing ourselves to comply with the ten principles of sustainable development and reporting our results through the publication of the sustainability report. All this, together with its size, logistics offer and flexibility, make it the logistics platform of reference in the sector.
