Installation of photovoltaic panels enables the generation of electricity and its subsequent exploitation by selling to the public network. This idea was born in 2005 to cover with plates the shelters of exterior parking of Service Center, the nursery and some offices. The excellent result encouraged ZAL Port to install photovoltaic solar panels extensively.            

The overall aim of ZAL Port is installed in 316,535 sqm of plates covered with an estimated power of more than 8 MW. It has currently occupied 60,000 sqm of the flat with 3 MW. This action is part of a program to protect the environment and improve efficiency in the use of natural resources.

ZAL Port anticipates changes and renew their products and manufacturing processes with sustainability criteria and apply technological advances to new challenges.

It is one of the three largest photovoltaic parks in Spain.
