The ZAL Port and MAS Prevención have offered a conference on Social Responsibility and Security in the port area.
On November 29, a series of presentations aimed at professionals in the port sector were held at the Auditorium of the ZAL Port Service Center to gain more knowledge about Social Responsibility and everything that the ISO 45001 standard entails.
The conference was opened by a welcome and thank you speech by Lídia Benito, representative of the Rector Councilor, and by Ricard Sayós, General Director of MAS Prevención.
Next, the presentations began, starting with Xavier Barea, technical manager of Management Systems, HSE Representative and Chief Auditor at DNV Group. The professional, among other issues, explained the advantages and the typical structure of ISO 45001, the standard that manages Occupational Health and Safety: introduction, scope, regulatory references, terms and definitions, requirements and, finally, annexes.
Jacobo Cuenca, head of Health & Safety Manager Autoterminal in Noatum, was the one who continued with the conference analyzing the innovations of ISO 45001 with respect to OHSAS 18001, an international standard for occupational health and safety management. In this way, he presented his “Noatum” application, demonstrating how the standard is applied to it, taking into account all the main objectives.
Finally, María Font, director of Quality Experts, showed how important the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the United Nations Global Compact are for promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the business sector.
Throughout these three presentations, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the subject matter, which was followed by a coffee break at the ZAL Port facilities.
Carlos Carrasco, Director of Safety and Environment at the ZAL Port, greatly appreciated the attendance of the participants and brought the day to an end.
