The German B.E.G., specialist in lighting control systems, designed and equipped the complete lighting control system for the offices of the first port logistics platform to be established in Spain, ZAL Port, managed by Cilsa ( International Logistics Center) and located in the Port of Barcelona. CBRE Design Collective has taken over the architecture, engineering and design project.
Flexible workspaces
The project to move the offices to the ground floor of the Service Center building has resulted in modern and designer workspaces, designed to improve people’s quality of life. Thanks to the combination of cutting-edge design and technology, as well as great engineering work carried out by CBRE Design Collective, these offices have become a reference space for the new flexible work philosophy, adapted to the needs of the user and where lighting plays a fundamental role.
Utilization of natural light and lighting control systems
With the aim of optimizing the flexibility of the spaces, it has been equipped with BEG lighting control systems, which allow subsequent changes to the configuration, without the need to modify the installation.
Another of the characteristics of the project is that the use of natural light has been prioritized, taking into account the orientation of the building, as well as the location of the different spaces, so that the lighting adapts to the circadian rhythm of people, achieving more comfort and well-being”, pointed out sources from B.E.G.
On the other hand, it has opted for the automation of the lighting, which brings comfort and efficiency in the switching on and off processes.
Sustainability is another of the commitments with which the project has been executed. Work has been done to prevent pollution and minimize the environmental impact, with an excellent energy efficiency management system and the reduction of non-renewable energy consumption.
Support and advice from B.E.G. throughout the process
During the development of the project, CBRE Design Collective collaborated with BEG’s team of professionals specialized in energy efficiency, which responded to each of the challenges posed by the project by selecting, among its wide range of products and high quality systems, detectors, programmers and controllers most suitable for each work space.
The result is a control system seamlessly integrated into the BMS (or Building Management System, based on monitoring and control software and hardware that is installed in buildings), which it adapts to the light conditions of the day for a greater use of natural light and a considerable increase in energy efficiency.
The technical and commercial team of B.E.G. was present throughout the different phases of the project, accompanying the evolution of the installation and providing continuous advice. “From the first commercial contact, through the training of Siecom staff in the knowledge of its devices and functionalities, to after-sales services”, they specified.
“Energy and economic profitability is important, but from B.E.G. we have also contributed another intangible but equally decisive added value: trust”, commented Luis Claver, regional manager of B.E.G. Hispania
In this sense, Manuel García, sales manager at Siecom was satisfied: “They will not have any other better partner than B.E.G. They have a control solution that fits the price and high quality. In addition to its good pre-sale and after-sale service. I can only speak well of it. I go with them whenever I can because I know they won’t fail me.”
“The control solution offered by B.E.G. it is very broad” said Martí Coll, associate director at CBRE Design Collective España. “It is the possibility of having a customized lighting control, without having to depend on a final schedule at a very competitive price. They have all kinds of solutions, from complex scene control to the simplest ignition. Apart from a product that works perfectly, the customer service is exceptional. From consultancy in the development of the project to the commissioning of the equipment. Not forgetting the after-sales service, a part forgotten in many companies. This point for us as engineering closes the circle cleanly, since we have never felt neglected” he concluded.
